Computer-grade "Low kV" antistatic carpet suppresses static, so you won't get a shock. But suppressing static is not enough. Everyday occurrences, like a person walking across the floor or sliding out of a chair generate enough static electricity to damage electronic components. To protect today's high speed computer equipment, static charges must be removed.

In StaticSmart ESD Carpet, the FiberLink™ conductive fibers are woven into the yarn bundle, creating an infinite number of contact points. These contact points provide a fast path to ground, to quickly and effectively remove static charges. So your floor will never again be the weak link in a mission critical operation.

Static Protection Far Superior to Commercial-grade "Anti-Static" Carpet
StaticSmart ESD Carpet, the recommended solution for data storage and communications centers, is far superior to commercial "anti-static" carpeting. "Antistatic" or low kV carpeting may reduce static build-up, but does not conduct the static charge to ground. Furthermore, the backings of commercial "anti-static" carpeting act as insulators, blocking dissipation of the charge and negating the careful engineering of your access floors.

How ESD Carpet Works

The StaticSmart ESD Carpet system absorbs static electricity and passes the charge from the surface through the conductive backing and adhesive to the flooring sub-system to ground. As added insurance, the system includes the StaticSmart Connector, a copper foil clamp attached to the understructure at intervals, providing a uniform potential to ground throughout the installation.
